About Jillian
Jillian K. Aurrichio is a fourth year student at James Madison University (JMU). She is finishing up her double major degree requirements to achieve a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a focus in Public Relations and in Italian Studies. After graduating in May 2008, she intends to go into the Music Industry doing talent management. Her work in the University Program Board, a club that conducts many of the music events and festivities that occur on campus, has enlightened her to many of the insider secrets of the industry. For a short time, Jillian performed as an on-air disc jockey. The experience broadened her music scope and has given her a taste for all genres of music.
Much of the development of her music tastes occurred while studying abroad in Europe. During her time overseas, Jillian has listened to an assortment of music genres across the world. Some of her favorites include Ligabue, Elisa, Adriano Celentano, Zucchero, and Tiziano Ferro. Not exclusive to Italian music, however, some of her favorites here in America include: Of A Revolution, Dave Matthews Band, Louie DeVito, Kim Sozzi, Jay-Z, Jermaine Dupri, and Damien Rice. As you can see, there is a wide assortment of genre’s in her music taste; it spans from Hip Hop to Dance to Indie.
Jillian has gained a great deal of experience working with the public via her past job experiences as a sales representative and a server in numerous restaurants. From these past experiences, she has become meticulously organized with much attention to detail. Over the course of her time at JMU and in her working experiences, she has learned to efficiently and effectively communicate with a general public.
In this blog she hopes to achieve her goals of communicating with a public and meeting their needs. She believes that, with the help of her fellow authors, this task can be accomplished.
